about these curly coated cats who looked like they had come
from outer space, with large wide set eyes and unusually
sizeable ears. Thrilled at the prospect of having a cat again, we
went online to find information and pictures of Devon Rex cats
and kittens. Shortly thereafter we made our first connection
with a breeder. After that first visit with Devons, we knew there
was no turning back. The rest is, as they say, history, and our
lives have never been the same.
My name is Terry, my husband is Rick, our daughter is Stephanie,
and we love Devons! We cannot even begin to imagine how we
ever lived without Devons in our lives. Our home is in Saco, a small
coastal city in the southern part of Maine about 90 miles north of
Boston and 12 miles south of Portland. We have a large home with
wonderful southern exposure, where our Devons and our dog
Simon love to run and play together. When they aren't chasing one
another they can be found piled on a large dog bed sunning their
bellies.

Our interest in showing and breeding cats began 20 years ago
when we acquired a wonderful pair of seal point Siamese cats and
later added a pair of blue point Siamese. After many years we
decided to put our interests on hold until our family was grown and
we had the time necessary for the research and development of
our line. When the time was right we obtained two kittens but were
devastated to discover Stephanie had developed severe allergies
in the years since our Siamese days. We assumed we would never
enjoy the purring of a cat again.
Then Stephanie came home from college for
spring break excited about a breed of cats she
had been researching, one that people with
allergies could "often tolerate". She told us all
Today our Devon family continues with four wonderful queens and two
incredible males. Hurricane Abby Gale, the white whirlwind, Hurlee
Annabelle Joelee, the blue eyed chocolate point, Pawsitivi Lay D Lexus,
We obtained our first Devon,
Edward-Lewis, a handsome
black male named after a
character in my favorite movie.
We were all pleased to find that
Edward did not aggravate Stephanie's allergies. Shortly thereafter, Stephanie brought
her first Devon home, Captain MacOban Trouble Michellows. Although not officially a
member of our Saco household, MacOban would visit oftern. Visits were always
enjoyable, but both cats were lonely
after MacOban went home with
Stephanie. To ease Edward's
loneliness we obtained our cottony
white, extremely curly male.
Because his soft fluffy curls made
him seem so delicate we named him
Manley-Man. It wasn't long at all
before MacOban got a companion of
his own. Little One Linus Your
Highness Michellows, who looks just
like MacOban. Both are
cream with flame points. It
was then that we decided
to renew our dream of
showing and breeding cats.
Curlfect Devons began with our first two queens, Miz Vivian and Pawsitivi
Curlfect, along with our first stud, Luke Skywalker. All three have now retired to
wonderful homes. Miz Vivian lives with her family in Chelmsford, MA. Pawsitivi
Curlfect now lives in De Soto, IL with her new best friend Tawny, a gentle Great
Dane. Luke Skywalker retired to a life of leisure on the coast of Maine.
