We are a mother and daughter team, Terry and Stephanie, who share
this wonderful hobby of breeding and showing Devon Rex cats.
We cannot even begin to imagine how we ever lived without Devons
in our lives. Terry and her husband live in a small coastal city
in the southern part of Maine about 90 miles north of Boston and
12 miles south of Portland. They have
a large home with wonderful southern exposure, where our Devons
love to run and play. When they
aren't chasing one another they can be found sunning their bellies.
Stephanie and her husband live in coastal New Hampshire only an
hour's drive away with their own wonderful Devons.
Our interest in showing and
breeding cats began 25 years ago when we acquired a wonderful
pair of seal point Siamese cats and later added a pair of blue
point Siamese. After many years we decided to put our interests
on hold until our family was grown and we had the time necessary
for the research and development of our line. When the time was
right we obtained two kittens but were devastated to discover
Stephanie had developed severe allergies in the years since our
Siamese days. We assumed we would never enjoy the purring of a
cat again. |
 |
|
Then Stephanie came home from college for spring break
excited about a breed of cats she had been researching,
one that people with allergies could "often tolerate".
She told us about these curly coated cats who looked
like they had come from outer space, with large wide set
eyes and unusually sizeable ears. Thrilled at the
prospect of having a cat again, we went online to find
information and pictures of Devon Rex cats.
Shortly thereafter we made our first connection with a
breeder. After that first visit with Devons, we knew
there was no turning back. The rest is, as they say,
history, and our lives have never been the same. |
|
 |
We obtained our first Devon, Edward-Lewis, a handsome black
neutered male. We were all
pleased to find that Edward did not aggravate Stephanie's
allergies.
Shortly thereafter, Stephanie brought her first Devon
home, Captain MacOban. Although not
officially a member of the Maine household, MacOban would visit
often. Manley-Man and Linus joined each of our
homes not long after. It was then that we decided to
renew our dream of showing and breeding cats.
Curlfect Devons began with our first two queens, Miz
Vivian and Pawsitivi Curlfect, along with our first stud, Luke
Skywalker. All three have now retired to wonderful homes.

 |
 |
As our first two queens and first stud retired our next
generation joined our Devon family.
Loganderry Mister Reese and Hurricane Abby Gale, the white whirlwind, Annabelle
Joelee, the aqua eyed natural mink and our own Pawsitivi Lay D
Lexus, daughter of Isabelle and Luke, had all grown into a
wonderful group of Devons.
Eventually
Loganderry Mister Reese retired to coastal New Hampshire where
he lives with a wonderful artist and her family. Under Reese's
watchful eye an oil painting of Hurricane Abby Gale was painted
and now graces our home.
Today
our Devon Queens are Clearly MzUndrstod Callie, a silver patched tabby
with white; Karmacatz Twilight Zone ‘Emma’, a chocolate silver
patched mackerel tabby; Loganderry’s Isitt Rose, a chocolate
silver patched tabby mink; Isitt Bella, a brown patched mackerel
tabby and our young
hopefuls Curlfect's Arya and Curlfect's Return to Cinder.
